Curling Iron Fun!

Welcome back, Heather...my favorite red-head! I wanted to try something different with Heather's style this time.
Here's before: I decided to go with large, swept-back curls. I chose this style because it can do wonders for fine hair.

I used a medium-sized curling iron and created curls turning away from the face. Once the curls were set, I ran some liquid pomade through the hair with my hands to give some extra shine, and to loosen up the curls. I don't like curls that look too "done".

I set the style with Aveda Air control, a dry hairspray that holds without weight, and helps absorb oil on fine hair.
I LOVE how the curls turned out!

Strawberry

My client this time had tried to color her own hair, and it didn't really turn out. She wanted to go strawberry blonde, so I decided to apply a weave all over to give some pretty highlights and dimension.
Before:

After the color:
As you can see, the highlights are a huge difference but are still a natural, bright color. The highlights also brightened up her eyes and brought out a glow in her face!

Modern Elvira!

Crystal's hair was getting very long and it needed some freshening up. I was thinking of a more modern version of Elvira's haircut. This is before:
After:

I didn't take off much length, just created more short layers on the top of the head. I connected the back layers to the front of the head to give the short and long lengths a good contrast. It also helped make a nice, full bang.
I loved the result!

Choppy, Layered Cuts

Brittany's cut is a short, layered style. She is trying to grow out an old A-line bob cut while keeping some style. We didn't want to take too much off, so I refreshened the layers and evened out the bottom line of her hair.
Before:
After:
Her hair is fine, so I used some B&B Styling Spray on wet hair, and Aveda Hair Poition on her roots after the hair was completely dry. It gave it a fun, chunky texture without weighing it down.

Honey tones

Ana's color is a good example of rich, natural tones. We highlight about 1/3 of the front region and use an all over brown.

Katie

This is another really fun cut. The entire haircut was with a razor and my texturizing shears.
The hair is cut short around the crown of the head and left longer around the ears and neck to create a chunky shag.
I styled with Aveda Universal Styling Creme.

Zane

This was a fun cut! Zane's hair was pretty long to begin with and in need of a style. I left the top long and cut extra length off the sides to add a modern edge.
I did a lot of texturizing because his hair is pretty fine and I wanted it to look as full as possible.
I styled with Aveda Men Grooming Creme. Rawk it!
